El pensamiento social de Melquíades Álvarez a través de sus discursos

Este trabajo es uno de los resultados de las líneas de investigación marcadas dentro del plan general del Proyecto en el que ha sido gestado, “Planificación histórica de las reformas sociales en España: 1855-1942”. En él se estudia el pensamiento social de uno de los políticos más destacados e influyentes del primer tercio del siglo XX, Melquíades Álvarez. Para ello se han utilizado los discursos del ilustre político que han sido publicados recientemente además de los programas políticos y otros testimonios fundamentales. Se ha hecho especial hincapié en la etapa de formación universitaria del político asturiano y en el ambiente universitario que vivió para conocer los condicionamientos sociales y culturales que influyeron en la formación de su pensamiento político. En esta línea destaca también como documento anexo la tesis de Melquíades Álvarez, de la que el autor de este trabajo ofrece su propia versión a la vista del manuscrito publicado en 2006.

This work is one of the results of the lines of research marked within the general plan of the Project in which it has been developed, “Historical Planning of the Social Reforms in Spain: 1855-1942 “. The social thought of one of the most outstanding and influential politicians of the first third of the 20th century, Melquíades Álvarez, is here studied. The speeches of the illustrious politician that have been published recently have been used here, in addition to the political programs and other fundamental testimonies. Special emphasis is made on the Asturian politician university formation stage, as well as the university atmosphere, in order to a better understanding of the social and cultural influences on the formation of his political thought. Specially interesting is the annexed document, with Melquíades Alvarez’s thesis, of which the author of this work offers his own version at the sight of the manuscript published in 2006.
