La migración de personas procedentes de Centroamérica, en tránsito por territorio mexicano con destino final a los Estados Unidos de América, es un fenómeno complejo, donde la violación de sus derechos humanos es una realidad. Ante este panorama, las instituciones religiosas, especialmente la Iglesia Católica, trabajan para garantizarles un trato digno. La legislación migratoria mexicana recientemente ha reconocido una cooperación entre el Estado y los grupos religiosos en la atención de los migrantes centroamericanos.
The migration of people from Central America, in transit through Mexico with a final destination in the United States of America, is a complex phenomenon, where the violation of their human rights is a reality. Against this background, religious institutions, especially the Catholic Church, working to ensure a dignified treatment. Mexican immigration legislation recently acknowledged cooperation between the state and religious groups in the care of Central American migrants.
