El misterio de los hermanos Graco

El mérito transformador de la estructura política de la sociedad tardorrepublicana que siempre ha recaído en la actitud revolucionaria de los tribunos de la plebe Tiberio y Cayo Graco tiene una protagonista femenina como responsable de la educación transgresora de ambos, su madre Cornelia. En este trabajo analizamos la tarea legislativa de los hermanos Graco al servicio del pueblo romano, su trágico final y la relevancia de Cornelia en la formación de sus hijos y en la conservación –ayudada por su hija Sempronia- del póstumo recuerdo de los héroes, primero denostados y luego venerados por la historia romana.

The transforming merit of the political structure of the late republican society that has always fallen on the revolutionary attitude of the tribunes of the plebs Tiberius and Gaius Graco has a female protagonist as responsible for the transgressive education of both, his mother Cornelia. In this work we analyze the legislative task of the Graco brothers at the service of the Roman people, its tragic end and the relevance of Cornelia in the formation of her children and in the conservation -helped by her daughter Sempronia- of the posthumous memory of the heroes, first reviled and then revered by Roman history.
