La huella del iusnaturalismo en el Código Civil de Andres Bello

La obra jurídica cumbre de Andrés Bello es el Código civil chileno, Código homónimo, donde pone de manifiesto sus verdaderas señas de identidad: talento, tenacidad, tesón y laboriosidad. Ello, entre otras razones, le ha granjeado una reputación sin igual: ser la obra jurídica más importante de Latinoamérica y proyectar a su autor como un referente inexcusable en el Derecho latinoamericano.
Y es que, de la misma manera que la Gramática de la lengua castellana aúpa a Andrés Bello en un sitial de privilegio entre los sucesores de Nebrija, su Código civil representa para Latinoamérica lo que años antes representó el Código civil francés en la vieja Europa, que no es decir poco.
