Lutero y la música

Martín Lutero, a diferencia de otros reformadores, fue consciente del valor de la música y de su importancia en la vida de las personas humanas y de las sociedades. Por esta razón otorgó a la música un papel relevante en su proyecto reformador del cristianismo. Su formación musical le permitió incluso componer melodías (corales) para que su mensaje llegase mejor a sus destinatarios, y que éstos vibrasen y lo interiorizasen mejor. En la historia de la música occidental hay un antes y un después de la Reforma gracias, sin duda, a la persona y al pensamiento de Martín Lutero.

Martin Luther, unlike other reformers, was aware of the value of music and its importance in the lives of people and society. For this reason, he gave music an important role in his reformation of Christianity. His musical training allowed him to compose melodies (chorales) to better and more effectively convey his message to the recipients, with the idea that it would help them vibrate and absorb his message. In the history of Western music, there is a before and after the Reformation which is owed without any doubt, to Martin Luther and his thought.
