Las relevantes aportaciones historiográficas de Pérez-Prendes

Dos características básicas merecen destacarse en la magna obra de Pérez-Prendes: a) la comparación de la ciencia jurídica española con la alemana; y b) la utilización en la Historia del Derecho de la rigurosa metodología común a todas las ciencias sociales, basada en tres operaciones intelectuales básicas: el análisis detallado, la síntesis de todos y de cada uno de aquellos elementos analizados y la teoría o explicación final, en la que se manifiesta tanto la objetividad de lo analizado como la subjetividad creativa del autor.

Two basic characteristics of the magnum opus of Pérez-Prendes are worth mentioning: a) the comparison of Spanish with German legal science ; and b) the use in the history of law of the rigorous methodology common to all social sciences, based on three fundamental intellectual operations: a detailed analysis, a synthesis of all and every one of those elements analysed, and the theory or final explanation, in which both the objectivity of what has been analysed and the creative subjectivity of the author are demonstrated.
