El presente trabajo, partiendo de la identificación de los grupos normativos que en España regulan la protección de los animales, se ocupa de la realidad que constituye la participación de animales En eventos o competiciones deportivas cuyo resultado es objeto de apuestas. Se identifican las actividades que resultan ilegales y se analiza la regulación sobre juego y apuestas, ciertamente desconectada de procurar el bienestar animal.
This paper, starting from the identification of the normative groups that in Spain regulates the animal protection, deal with the reality that constitutes the participation of animals in events or sports Competitions whose result is object of betting. Activities of betting which are illegal are indentified and the regulation on gambling and betting, certainly disconnected from procuring animal welfare, is also analyzed.
