A lo largo de este artículo se analiza cómo hemos llegado hasta aquí, de dónde surge la idea del Brexit, en qué consiste el Acuerdo de Salida y cómo la salvaguarda de Irlanda se ha convertido en la piedra angular del Brexit y en el principal motivo de su bloqueo. Se discute también si el Brexit no es más que una manifestación de la crisis política europea y se consideran las previsibles consecuencias de un Brexit sin acuerdo y las posibles salidas al bloqueo actual.
This article examines how we have reached this point, the source of the idea of Brexit, what the Withdrawal Agreement consists of, and how the Irish backstop has become the cornerstone of Brexit and the main reason for its delay. The article also discusses whether Brexit is simply a manifestation of Europe's political crisis, and considers the foreseeable consequences of a no-deal Brexit and the possible ways to resolve the current impasse.
