El ingreso mínimo vital

El preocupante incremento de la pobreza generado por las recientes crisis económicas, especialmente la de la Covid-19, y el imparable aumento de la digitalización, han obligado a muchos países europeos a implantar el ingreso mínimo vital, a cargo del Estado o la Seguridad Social, para tratar de eliminar la exclusión de parte de la sociedad. En España se ha llevado a efecto por el RDL 30/2020. En este trabajo se realiza una aproximación a la nueva regulación, destacando las dificultades de interpretación y su carácter restrictivo que han dificultado gravemente su implantación real, suscitando serias dudas sobre su efectividad, al no alcanzar a muchas necesitadas de protección.

The worrying increase in poverty caused by recent economic crises, and the Covid-19 crisis in particular, as well as the unstoppable rise of digitalisation, have led many European countries to implement a mínimum living income paid by the State or the Social Security system, in an attempt to prevent the exclusión of part of society. In Spain, this has been carried out by Royal Decree-Law 30/2020. This article examines the new regulation, highlighting the difficulties in its interpretation and its restrictive nature, which have seriously hampered its real implementation and raised serious doubts about its effectiveness, as it does not reach many people in need of protection.
