Este artículo pone de manifiesto la íntima conexión entre el derecho minero romano y la regulación colonial relativa a las minas en la América Hispana. El camino a lo largo de más de un milenio discurre sin solución de continuidad desde la Edad Antigua, pasando por el derecho medieval castellano, hasta el moderno estado colonialista.
This article shows the intimate connection between the roman law of mining and the colonial regulation about mines in Hispanic America. The long road along more than thousand years runs continuosly without interruption from the Ancien Age through the medieval castillian´s law till the modern colonialist state.
