La Ley orgánica de Libertad Religiosa de 1980 y su proyección en Iberoamérica

El estudio se enmarca entre dos efemérides una chilena y otra española: el X.º aniversario de la Ley de cultos (1999), y el XXX.º aniversario de la Ley orgánica de libertad religiosa (1980). Esta encrucijada de leyes, piezas clave de los sistemas de libertad religiosa y de relaciones entre el Estado y las confesiones en estos países, propicia la reflexión sobre el modelo español y su proyección internacional, especialmente en Iberoamérica. En particular, analiza la influencia de la LOLR en la Ley de asociaciones religiosas y culto público de México (1992), en la Ley de libertad religiosa y de cultos de Colombia (1994) y en la mencionada Ley chilena. También ofrece una reflexión sobre el presente y las perspectivas de futuro de la Ley orgánica de libertad religiosa.

The background of this essay is two events, one of them Chilean and the other Spanish: the tenth anniversary of the Chilean Act of Religious Denominations (1999), and the thirtieth anniversary of the Spanish Act of Religious Freedom (1980). The coincidence of these crucial elements of the relations between Church and State in the two countries encourages the reflection on the Spanish model and its international projection, especially in Ibero-America. In particular, it analyzes the influence of the LOLR in the Act of Religious Associations and Public Worship of Mexico (1992), in the Act of Religious Freedom and Denominations of Colombia (1994) and in the aforementioned Chilean Act. It also offers a comment to the current situation and the future of the Spanish Act of Religious Freedom.
