2020 was forecast to be a busy Chinese-European year from the diplomatic point of view, with many meetings designed to bring to a successful conclusion some crucial and sometimes old issues, in particular an agreement on investments. In addition, Angela Merkel promised to hold an additional EU-China Summit, in September in Leipzig on the occasion of the German presidency of the Council of the Union.
