Pronto se cumplirá el 25º aniversario de la hoy derogada Ley de Derechos y Garantías del Contribuyente que supuso un hito importantísimo en la relación tributaria dando un espaldarazo al status de los ciudadanos frente al poder fiscal del Estado. Sin embargo ese estado de cosas ha venido decayendo y el clima actual resulta muy preocupante siendo el reflejo tributario quizá de lo que está aconteciendo en otros órdenes. Los hechos a los que asistimos diariamente están poniendo en peligro la seguridad jurídica y el Estado de Derecho.
We are approaching the twentyfifth anniversary of the now repealed Taxpayer’s Rights and Guarantees Law which was a very significant milestone in the development of the tax system and enhanced the status of citizens visà- vis the fiscal power of the State. However this situation has been deteriorating and the present climate is a source of major concern with taxation perhaps reflecting what is happening in other areas. The events that we are witnessing on a daily basis are endangering legal security and the rule of law.
